SASC Approves Civilian Nominations

Washington, D.C. – The Senate Armed Services Committee today voted by voice vote to favorably report the following civilian nominations en bloc:

• Dr. Mark T. Esper to be Secretary of the Army;
• The Honorable Robert L. Wilkie to be Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness;
• Mr. Joseph D. Kernan to be Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence; and
• Mr. Guy B. Roberts to be Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear, Chemical and Biological Defense Programs.

All nominations were immediately reported to the Senate floor following the Committee’s action.
